The start of a new role

2015-12-14 by Rasmus Haslund 2 Comments

For the past two and a half years, I have been on a fantastic journey working as a system engineer/instructor for Arrow ECS in Denmark.
Introduced to the job by vCommunity superstar Frank Brix, who most of you know from Twitter or his excellent blog on vFrank.org.

Frank took me under his wings in Arrow and helped me become first a VMware Certified Instructor and later a Veeam Certified Trainer.

Without his encouragement and support I am not sure I would have been able to reach the many achievements he suggested, such as setting up this very blog, passing both VMware VCAP-DCA and VCAP-DCD exams and much more.

When Veeam launched their Veeam Certified Engineer program, I was very lucky to receive an invitation to the first train-the-trainer session in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, taught by Veeam super stars Andreas Neufert and Chris Dearden. Here I was meet by an extraordinary team of professionals! It was then I realized my goal was to become worthy of joining this team.

Since then I have found that no matter who I talk to at Veeam they are not only very happy to work there, but also very eager to share their passion.

Their level of engagement in the IT community on social media and at events encouraged me to contribute as much as I could.

Veeam rewarded many people in the community with programs such as the Veeam Experts Club (VTEC) and Veeam Vanguard and I have been fortunate to be a part of these programs.

Today I am extremely proud to announce I from January 2016 will be joining Veeam to work as a Principal Technologist in the Global Education Services team.

This is a new role and my duties will include working with the fantastic education team on completing the new Veeam Certified Engineer v9 courseware and exam, work on the upcoming Veeam Certified Engineer Advanced class, deliver train-the-trainer sessions, enable Veeam system engineers and much much more!

Hei Rasmus.
