How to check Veeam configuration backup version

Today I was teaching the Veeam Certified Engineer course.

During the course one of the students asked me how to could check which version of Veeam Backup & Replication was used to create a configuration backup.

Step 1. Open location of Veeam configuration backup and find .bco file:

 

Step 2. Rename .bco file extension to .zip:

 

Step 3. Double click version.xml file:

 

Step 4. Find major version of Veeam Backup & Replication used to create backup:
