VMware vSphere CLI missing libxml2.dll

2012-11-29 by Rasmus Haslund Leave a Comment

Today a customer called reporting unable to install the EqualLogic MEM module for VMware using vSphere CLI.

He recieved the following error:

The program can’t start because libxml2.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

A search on his computer revealed that the file was in fact installed together with vSphere CLI :

C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware vSphere CLI\Perl\bin

I then opened System -> Advanced system settings -> Environment Variables -> System -> Path to check if the file was included in the PATH variable, but it was already there.

The solution? Simply log out and login again for the user session to use the newly updated PATH.

Did this help you? If so, please post a comment 🙂
