I got notification from VMware today that they have released VMware Certified Associate 6 – Data Center Virtualization (VCA6-DCV).
There are no course requirements, but PLEASE! for your own sake go through the FREE Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals online class.
The class will help you remember what VMware wants you to think, remember and their angle on all the features.
Tonight I spent my evening going through the Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals class and then attempting the exam.
To be honest, I would have failed (most likely by short margin) the exam if it had not been for the class, very difficult questions at times.
Not difficult because of the technical level, but for me difficult due to the wording of the questions… I had trouble figuring out what are you asking me VMware?!?!
Fortunately I passed 🙂
Before you can attempt this exam yourself, you will need to request authorization from VMware, this can easily be done online here.
Once approved, you can schedule the exam at Pearson Vue and sit the exam online in a browser from home.

I paid 670 DKK which roughly equals $100 USD.
I thought all test had to be done at a test center. Am I wrong?
You are wrong. The VCA exam can be taken online, the VCP-DCV 5.5 delta exam could also be taken online. All other tests (except VCDX) are however in a Pearson Vue test center.

Good advice I always say take the CBT it’s just three or four hours. Took mine a few weeks ago and passed now working on obtaining all 9 VCA’s 6 down 3 more to go. NSX was the killer one. Andynashers.wordpress.com
