Veeam released the updated version 9 of their course Veeam Certified Engineer on February 1st.
Since then many Education Centers have already been teaching it and the feedback I have heard is great!
Around 400 attendees at Veeam’s availability conference, VeeamON, in October 2015 had a chance to attend an early access version of VMCE v9. If you are dreaming of attendending a VMCE v10 early access class during VeeamON 2017 then go ahead and signup for updates on VeeamON.com.
Let me quickly run through your scenarios of you are looking to become a Veeam Certified Engineer:
1. Never attended a VMCE class
Simply sign-up for a VMCE class in your region.
Find one here and later pass the exam.

2. You attended a VMCE v7 class, but never passed the exam
Unfortunately you are required to start all over again.
Had you passed the VMCE v7 exam, you could have upgraded it to v9.

Which resources are available to prepare for the VMCE v9 exam?
- If you attended a VMCE v9 class, read the entire Text Book. Everything you need to pass the exam is in there.
- Read the Release Notes for v9
- Read the User Guide for v9 (VMware vSphere)
- Read the User Guide for v9 (Microsoft Hyper-V)
- Closely read the What’s New in v9 PDF, you can easily win easy points during the exam by knowing about these new features and changes from v8.
- Watch this v9 Feature Overview webinar (It includes rockstar Rick Vanover)
- Review some simulated demos of Veeam (this is unfortunately still v8)
- Self evaluate using a VMCE practice exam. Currently two exist: Official and UnOfficial (Remember these are study tools to find your weak areas)
I hope this was useful and if you have any unanswered questions please leave them in the comments section below, I will then try my best to update this guide as they come in.
Found another vmce practice quiz here as well; http://rhyshammond.com/?quiz=vmce_v9
Great Practice test. Thanks for the link
Rasmus, So I just downloaded the new v9 book which does now inlcude the Cloud Connect replication. I wanted to confirm with you essentially all of the following are operations that can be completed to a cloud connected repository:
Back up VMs to the cloud repository
Copy VM backup files to the cloud repository
Restore VM data from the cloud repository (Full VM, VM hard disk, VM files and VM guest OS files restore for Windows)
Perform file copy operations between tenant’s side and the cloud repository (Manual operations only. Scheduled file copy jobs are not supported.)
Cloud Connect Replication
But the following operations are not supported:
Backup Copy Jobs
Sure Backup and Sure Replica
Is that acurate?
