The first real day of the conference is finished and what a day!
My day started off with the Partner Keynote.
Veeam CEO Ratmir Timashev I thought was fantastic and very charismatic. He explained how important the channel partners has been and will continue to be for Veeam.
As someone who works for a Veeam distributor (Arrow ECS) I am obviously happy to hear this, but I already knew that Veeam places great amounts of trust and energy in our partnership.
After the keynote I went to attend the Veeam User Group meeting.
Talk about a packed room!
While there was an official agenda, instead they basically asked everyone what they wanted to talk/hear about and then wrote it as topics on the whiteboard.
This was a bold move, since if noone had wanted to speak up they would have been in trouble – however that was not the case and people were constantly queueing to ask qustions.
This made the meeting very interactive!
After lunch I attended “Veeam Certification Overview and Benefits” with speaker Anton Mamichev.
This was a super session for ProPartners to understand how they can obtain VMSP and VMTSP certifications but more importantly how it will help ProPartners increase their earnings.
Next up I attended “Multi-tenancy: Roles, scopes and encryption in Veeam Enterprise Manager” with speaker Luca Dell’Oca.
Again a very interactive session with so many good questions from the crowd. I thought Luca did a good job.
I wonder if the next version will allow a “customer” administrator to setup a dynamic scope and then create new customer users with restore permissions.
I then went to attend “Veeam Backup and Replication Design: Basic to Advanced” with speakers Preben Berg and Tom Sightler
For me this was very clearly the best session of the day. I loved the content and the interaction with the audience.
Make sure you catch the recording of this one!
Last session of the day was “Handling the Competition as a Trusted Advisor” with speakers Anton Gostev, Blake Grantham and Stephanie Harless.
First of all, wow, that Stephanie Harless is a tough lady! I thought the idea and concept was really good for the session.
Unfortunately the answers/stories of the speakers some times took very very long and this meant there was not time for many questions.
The content and answers that did come out however was super good and useful!
One thing I noticed was the consistent high quality of food. It doesn’t matter if we are talking breakfest, lunch or dinner reception.
I hope Veeam will keep this up when the conference grows next year.
I will add lots of photos to this post later, but the hotel wifi is so slow I am giving up on that right now 🙁
Great!!!!! Thanks a lot for sharing. I could not be there and can hardly imagine the atmosphere. Hope to hear more from you and see photos!!!
